AT&T U-verse was an Internet protocol based service that delivered Internet and TV services. It was a breakthrough technological change utilizing IP traffic. Thus, AT&T U-verse TV was put into the IP TV group of services, since it was delivered over the Internet (IP = Internet Protocol). And the AT&T U-verse Internet was simply an internet service using a combination of fiber and copper wires. This later evolved into the AT&T Fiber Internet service. Even though those services were later replaced by AT&T Internet and DIRECTV STREAM, they marked a period of advance in this technology field. Even today, customers that decided not to move away from U-verse, they still get this service. The service is not available to new customers. As it is common for anything that left a stamp in an evolution period of a certain technology, here we are paying a tribute to AT&T U-verse services.

All About AT&T U-verse Internet, TV, and Phone Services

Even though AT&T at that time offered Internet, TV, and phone services within the U-verse service, the flagship of all was the TV service. In other words, saying U-verse meant TV at the first place. Then we go to Internet and phone as well.
