Yes—but it depends on how you’re accessing the service. Cox offers a couple of streaming options, but they don’t all work the same way:
- Contour Stream Player: This device lets you stream live TV, On Demand content, and access popular apps like Netflix and Peacock—all through your Cox TV subscription. It includes the Contour Voice Remote and works over your Cox Internet connection.
- Xumo Stream Box: This device is focused on streaming apps and free ad-supported TV channels. It does not provide access to live TV channels included with a Cox Contour TV subscription. If you want local broadcast stations (like NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC) or cable channels (like ESPN, CNN, HGTV), you’ll need to use a Contour box or Contour Stream Player, or subscribe to those channels via separate apps like YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV.
You can also stream live and On Demand Cox content using the Contour app on your phone, tablet, or computer when you’re away from your TV.
Bottom line: For full access to Cox TV channels, stick with a Contour device. The Xumo Stream Box is great for general streaming, but not a replacement for Cox TV service.
