Copper wire connection uses traditional electric signal transmission through the same wires that are used either by landline phone (DSL Internet) or cable TV (coaxial wire). On the other side, fiber connection goes through a fiber optic cable which uses light signals to transfer the data. Because the signals travel at the speed of light, ultra-high speeds can be achieved with fiber optic connections.
Check those Internet service providers for fiber-optic Internet service:
- AT&T Internet (speeds up to 5,000 Mbps)
- Verizon Home Internet (speeds up to 2,000 Mbps)
- Xfinity Internet (speeds up to 10,000 Mbps)
Please note that each provider has geographic limitations for their Internet services. While some services may be available in your area, other may not. The only secure way to check on this is to enter your address at their websites.
