Verizon Wireless Plans
Want to know more about Verizon Wireless plans? Don’t worry, you’re in the right place. This write-up provides you with a comprehensive overview of the available plans and the perks that might be included.
You’ll also get a better understanding of the benefits of transferring to Verizon from another carrier. However, you should know that these plans and offers were reviewed at the time of writing and might be a bit different in the future.
That out of the way, it’s time to see what you can get.
Wireless Plans Galore
Verizon offers eight different types of plan that fall in the $35 to $95 range. The features per plan differ so it pays to take a closer look at each one. But there is one important thing to consider.
There are discounts if you want to get more than one line and the company offers 10% off for each new line. The prices expressed in this article are for one line, except for Connected Device plan.
Unlimited
There are four Unlimited plans – Start, Play More, Do More, and Get More. The names signify the included data and speeds and the price goes up accordingly.
To be exact, Start is at $70, Play and Do More are at $80, and Get More is $90 for one line a month. The important thing is that the prices don’t include fees and taxes. Here’s a quick overview of the data features:
- Start - Unlimited 4G LTE, 480p-quality streaming, Apple Music for six months
- Play More - Includes 5G access and Apple Music, Unlimited 4G LTE and Mobile Hotspot, and 720p-quality streaming
- Do More - 5G included, plus unlimited 4G LTE (more the 50GB of data), Unlimited 4G LTE and Mobile Hotspot, 480p-quality streaming, 50% discount for Jetpack Unlimited Plan, 500GB of Cloud storage, and Apple Music for six months
- Get More - The same as previous, but you get 720p streaming, unlimited Apple Music, and more 4G LTE and Mobile Hotspot data.
Shared Data
The basic shared data plan is called S and it comes with 2GB of data. You get unlimited text and talk and can carry over the data into the next month. This plan is eligible for Verizon Up and you can purchase 1GB for $15 on top of the base price.
With 4GB of data, the M plan is more geared towards those that like to do some light streaming and social media streaming. And the other features apply as for the S plan. The median plan offers 5GB and allows you to do a bit of everything.
But if 5GB doesn’t do the trick, consider the L plan which offers 8GB of data.
Kids’
Kids’ plan can be added to other Verizon plans and it comes with 5GB of data and parental controls to keep tabs on the child’s activities. There are three apps for parental controls - – My Verizon, Verizon Smart Family, and Smart Family companion.
Prepaid
The main benefit of prepaid is that you’re not tied in to a contract. But there are benefits if you sign up for Auto Pay. As for the plans themselves, you have three options.
- 6GB of high-speed data and mobile hotspots for $35 a month.
- 16GB of high-speed data, mobile hotspots, and unlimited calls to Canada and Mexico for $45 a month.
- No data cap and unlimited calls to Canada and Mexico for $65.
International
Again, you have three options at your disposal. Using Verizon while abroad, messaging and calling while in the U.S. and Prepaid Services.
When abroad, you can use the operator’s TravelPass and pay for full service at $5 or $10 a day. If you place international calls, the price is $0.05 a minute for more than 230 countries. And calling Canada and Mexico is free.
As for prepaid options, you should consider which countries you frequently call and choose one of the options based on that.
Connected Car
Frequent travelers and commuters should find Verizon’s Connected Car quite useful. It connects your vehicle to the largest and fastest 4G LTE in the country so you and your family can enjoy high-quality streaming.
This section won’t discuss the pricing because it differs if you’re a Verizon user or not. And it may vary depending on the plan you already have. The interesting thing is that you actually need to provide your smartphone’s IMEI to get the Connected Car options if you’re not already a user.
Connected Device
This is more like a service that covers most of the available plans. To explain, if you need more than one line, Verizon offers privileged pricing and some perks.
The Connected Device is available for all Unlimited plans, Kids’ plan, as well as Prepaid Unlimited and Business Unlimited. For example, if you need four lines and opt for the Start Unlimited plan the price drops to $35 per month for each line.
The great thing is that you get to mix and match different plans that don’t come with a data cap. In general, this option allows you to save between 10% and 50% per line, depending on how many you need.
Single Device
If you don’t already own a smartphone, tablet, or wearable, Verizon can provide one for you within the Single Device plan. Here are the available options:
1. B - You get a basic smartphone, 500MB of data, and unlimited texting and talking for $30.
2. T - This one comes with a tablet, 1GB of data, as well as unlimited texting and taking. What’s more, it sets you back only $10.
3. H - Also priced at $10, this option gives you access to hotspots and 1GB of data.
4. W - If you’re into wearables, this one is for you and the offer is the same as previous.
5. C - The letter stands for connected home and you get 10GB of data for $60. There are three more connected home options and you can get up to 4OGB of data for $150.
Are There Any Perks of Transferring to Verizon Wireless?
Aside from the fact that you’re moving to the fastest and most reliable network in the country, there are few perks. However, if you choose one of the Unlimited plans you get Disney + for free during the first year of your contract.
There’s also an extra $10 off a month per line should you sign up for Auto Pay and paper-free billing. To give you a clear picture, it’s best to put this in perspective.
If you live in New York, choose Start Unlimited, and need two lines, you’ll pay $70 per line. The automated billing will shave off $20 from the grand total. Subtract the price of Disney + which is about $7 per account, and you’re looking at a bit more than $100 for two lines.
Plan to Stay Connected
Despite the fact that AT&T is breathing down its neck, Verizon Wireless is still the best and most trusted operator in the country. And you can’t get excellent speeds, coverage, and data plans for cheap change. Therefore, Verizon Wireless offers great value for money.
