DIRECTV Genie 2 DVR
The Genie 2 is DIRECTV’s most advanced DVR system, designed to be a central wireless hub for your entire home. It eliminates the need for multiple DVRs or a receiver at each TV—everything connects through the Genie 2, offering a cleaner, streamlined setup with fewer cables and more flexibility.
This tower-style receiver supports up to 8 TVs with one main device, including wireless clients like Genie Minis. It also features built-in 4K capability, multi-tuner support, and voice control compatibility when paired with a voice-enabled remote.

DIRECTV Genie DVR
The company’s main DVR and one of the most up to date and innovative tools, Genie provides for 4K programming on 4K TVs. It allows for wireless connectivity of up to 8 TVs to a single DVR located inside and outside of the home. It also allows for recording and watching programming. In addition, Genie has RVU technology built into it to allow it to work with Smart TVs for HD DVR experience, and allows for the recording of up to 5 HD channels at one time. It can store up to 200 hours of HD entertainment to watch later (800 hours of SD). DIRECTV Genie comes with the Picture-in-Picture feature so two channels can be watched at the same time. On top of all, now you can control your DIRECTV hands-free with your voice. Simply use your Amazon Alexa to quickly find what you want to watch on TV. You can even schedule your DVR with your voice. If you want, you can turn ON the settings for TV show suggestions. It turns that Genie learns about what you like the most.

Genie Mini
DIRECTV Genie Mini are small DVR boxes, thus called "Mini." When used with Genie box, this device provides full DVR functionality. They are a sort of extension of your main Genie box. This is beacuse the Genie feeds all its features and content to the genie minis. You can connect up to five minies to the main box. Wireless Genie Minis are available. They connect to the Genie HD DVR via Wireless Video Bridge. The only things you need are the power cord and an HDMI cable.
Genie Mini (C61K) Features:
- Has all the same features as the Genie HD DVR. The genie mini acceses the all the genie features from the main Genie box.

Genie Lite
DIRECTV Genie Lite is an HD receiver without the recording capability (non-DVR). Recording option can be added though, by using Genie Lite HD DVR Kit which is DIRECTV-prepared external hard drive. In addition, this receiver has a built-in DIRECTV CINEMA™ Connection Kit (Wireless) which enables it for self-connection to a Wi-Fi network at your home and the Internet. Genie Lite supports DIRECTV Ready TVs and Genie Minis.

DIRECTV Remotes
When about remotes, DIRECTV makes it simple. Only two main types of remotes are available: Genie® and Universal Remote. They both come in two versions.
Genie® Remote comes with and without Backlit option. They both feature ergonomic design, not too many buttons, fast response time, and they use both infrared (IR) and radio frequency (RF) technology. RF technology does not require that the remote is pointed to a DVR or TV device like IR does. Genie Remote is compatible with Genie® (model HR44 or above), Genie® Lite (model H44 or above), Genie® Mini (model C41 or above), 4K Genie® Mini (model C61K or above), and Wireless Genie® Mini (model C41W or above). It is also compatible with all DIRECTV receivers and DIRECTV Ready TVs in IR mode.
Universal Remote also comes in two versions: Standard Universal Remote and Universal RF Remote. They both carry IR capability, while only the later one is RF capable as well (no pointing). They both control up to 4 components, including DIRECTV receiver, TV, DVD player, VCR. They are memory protected so you can replace batteries without re-programming. RF model features backlit buttons so you can see them better in the dark.
