Cricket Wireless
Cricket Wireless is a prepaid wireless provider offering nationwide 5G and 4G LTE service on the AT&T network. Its lineup includes affordable monthly phone plans, unlimited data options, multi-line discounts, multi-month service, smartphones and device deals, Bring Your Own Phone support, international features, and 5G Home Internet.
Cricket is designed for customers who want straightforward wireless service without an annual contract. Advertised monthly prices generally include provider fees and applicable taxes, and eligible customers can reduce their cost further through Auto Pay, family pricing, or multi-month service.
Whether you need a basic 10GB plan, unlimited data, hotspot access, international service, a new smartphone, or home internet, Cricket offers several ways to build service around your budget and usage.
What Is Cricket Wireless?
Cricket Wireless is owned by AT&T and uses the AT&T wireless network to provide nationwide mobile service. Customers can access 5G with a compatible device and coverage, while 4G LTE remains available in other areas.
Unlike traditional postpaid service, Cricket operates primarily on a prepaid, no-annual-contract model. Customers pay for service in advance rather than receiving a traditional postpaid wireless bill.
Cricket’s current product lineup includes:
- Monthly smartphone plans
- Unlimited data plans
- Multi-line family pricing
- 3-month and 12-month prepaid options
- Smartphones and device promotions
- Bring Your Own Phone support
- eSIM and physical SIM activation
- Mobile hotspot features
- International calling and roaming
- Smartwatch and data-only plans
- Cricket 5G Home Internet
Cricket Wireless Plans & Pricing
Cricket currently offers four main monthly phone plans: Sensible™ 10GB, Select Unlimited™, Smart Unlimited™, and Supreme Unlimited.
- Sensible™ 10GB – 10GB of high-speed data for customers who do not need unlimited service
- Select Unlimited™ – Cricket’s entry-level unlimited plan
- Smart Unlimited™ – Adds hotspot data, cloud storage, international texting, and Mexico/Canada usage
- Supreme Unlimited – Cricket’s highest-tier phone plan with the strongest included feature package
Current single-line prices with eligible Auto Pay range from approximately $30 per month for Sensible 10GB to $55 per month for Supreme Unlimited. Cricket also offers discounts when multiple eligible lines are added to the same account.
For customers comfortable paying in advance, Cricket also offers 3-month and 12-month unlimited plans. The current 12-month option works out to approximately $25 per month when $300 is prepaid for the full year.

Cricket 5G & Network Coverage
All current Cricket phone plans include access to nationwide 5G on the AT&T network with a compatible device and coverage. When 5G is unavailable, compatible phones can continue using 4G LTE service.
Actual wireless performance depends on factors such as:
- Location
- Signal strength
- Device compatibility
- Building materials
- Terrain
- Network congestion
- The Cricket plan you use
Cricket provides a coverage checker to help customers estimate service at their home, workplace, commute, and other frequently visited locations.
Coverage should always be checked before switching, especially if you live in a rural area or rely heavily on cellular service indoors.
For more information about 5G, LTE, coverage maps, device compatibility, and Cricket’s network trial options, see our Cricket Coverage & 5G Network page.
Cricket Phones & Device Deals
Cricket sells a wide range of smartphones and connected devices, including models from Apple, Samsung, Motorola, and other manufacturers.
The provider frequently runs promotions for:
- Customers switching from another carrier
- New phone lines
- Existing-customer upgrades
- Selected $0 or heavily discounted smartphones
- Certified pre-owned devices
Customers can also shop for smartwatches and dedicated mobile hotspot devices.
Some of Cricket’s strongest phone promotions require an eligible number transfer and a qualifying wireless plan, so it is important to compare the total service cost rather than focusing only on the advertised device price.
For more information about current smartphone categories, upgrades, financing, trade-ins, smartwatches, and device promotions, visit our Cricket Phones, Devices & Deals guide.
Bring Your Own Phone to Cricket
You do not have to purchase a new device when switching to Cricket. The provider supports Bring Your Own Device for compatible unlocked phones.
The basic process is:
- Make sure the phone is unlocked.
- Check compatibility using Cricket’s IMEI checker.
- Choose a Cricket plan.
- Purchase or activate the appropriate SIM or eSIM.
- Transfer your existing number if desired.
Cricket specifically recommends checking the IMEI because different versions of the same phone model can have different network capabilities. A compatible BYOD phone must also meet Cricket’s HD Voice requirements.
Cricket supports both eSIM and physical SIM activation on eligible devices. Customers using compatible eSIM phones can activate service without waiting for a physical card to arrive.
For step-by-step instructions covering compatibility, number transfers, activation, online orders, and delivery, visit our Cricket BYOD, Activation & Shipping page.
Cricket Mobile Hotspot
Hotspot availability depends on the Cricket plan you choose.
Current options include:
- Sensible 10GB – hotspot not included
- Select Unlimited – hotspot available as an optional add-on
- Smart Unlimited – includes 15GB of hotspot data
- Supreme Unlimited – includes 50GB of hotspot data
Cricket confirms that Smart and Supreme include hotspot data, while Select can add hotspot service for an additional charge.
A mobile hotspot can be useful for connecting a laptop, tablet, or another Wi-Fi device while away from home.
Cricket International Features
Cricket offers several international features, although availability depends on your plan.
Smart Unlimited and Supreme Unlimited currently include:
- Eligible talk, text, and data use in Mexico and Canada
- Unlimited texts from the U.S. to 200+ countries and territories
- Access to eligible international add-ons
Select Unlimited includes unlimited calls and texts from the U.S. to Mexico and Canada but does not include the same roaming benefits while physically traveling there.
Cricket also offers international calling add-ons and Cricket Passport™ for eligible customers traveling outside the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
For a detailed breakdown of hotspot allowances, Wi-Fi Calling, cloud storage, HBO Max, Mexico/Canada usage, international texting, calling add-ons, and roaming, see our Cricket Features, Hotspot & International guide.
Wi-Fi Calling & Other Features
Cricket includes several standard wireless features that can improve everyday use.
Depending on your phone and plan, these can include:
- Wi-Fi Calling
- Visual Voicemail
- Caller ID
- Call Waiting
- Call Forwarding
- Three-Way Calling
- Cricket Call Defense
- Picture and video messaging
Wi-Fi Calling can be especially helpful in locations where the cellular signal is weak indoors but reliable broadband Wi-Fi is available.
Cloud Storage & HBO Max
Cricket uses additional benefits to distinguish its higher-tier unlimited plans.
Smart Unlimited currently includes 100GB of cloud storage.
Supreme Unlimited increases the included cloud storage to 150GB and adds HBO Max Basic with Ads. Cricket currently identifies Supreme as the unlimited plan with its largest collection of extras.
These features can provide additional value if you already use cloud backup or HBO Max, but hotspot allowances, international service, and total monthly price should also be considered.
Cricket Multi-Line Plans
Cricket offers discounted pricing for households with multiple eligible phone lines.
The strongest multi-line savings are generally available on unlimited plans, making Cricket potentially attractive for families looking for prepaid service.
Unlike some postpaid carriers, Cricket’s discounted multi-line structure typically requires all participating lines to be on the same eligible plan.
For example, a household may choose Select Unlimited for everyone to minimize cost or Smart Unlimited for everyone if hotspot and international features are important.
See our Cricket Wireless Plans & Pricing guide for current multi-line totals.
Cricket Smartwatch & Data-Only Plans
Cricket also supports devices beyond smartphones.
Current options include:
- Unlimited smartwatch service for compatible devices
- Dedicated mobile hotspot plans
- Simply Data options for eligible data-only devices
Cricket currently lists Simply Data allowances including 20GB, 100GB, and 150GB, while smartwatch service is available for compatible customers who meet the applicable requirements.
Cricket 5G Home Internet
Cricket now offers more than mobile phone service. Cricket 5G Home Internet delivers residential broadband over the AT&T wireless network using a dedicated Cricket Internet Gateway.
The service includes:
- Unlimited data
- No annual contract
- No credit check
- Self-installation
- Typical speeds designed for streaming, work, and everyday home internet use
Current advertised pricing starts at approximately $60 per month with Auto Pay for standalone service. Existing Cricket phone customers can qualify for a lower $45 monthly Home Internet price with Auto Pay when the requirements are met. A Cricket Gateway purchase is also required.
Unlike mobile service, Home Internet availability is address-specific. Having Cricket wireless coverage does not automatically mean Home Internet can be ordered at your home.
For pricing, speeds, equipment, setup, and comparisons with cable and fiber, visit our Cricket 5G Home Internet guide.
No Annual Wireless Contract
Cricket’s phone service does not require a traditional annual wireless contract.
Customers generally pay for service in advance and can change monthly plans if their needs change. Multi-month plans work differently because several months of service are prepaid upfront.
This structure can be attractive for customers who want to avoid a long-term service commitment while still having access to a major nationwide network.
Who Is Cricket Wireless Best For?
Cricket can be a good fit for several types of customers:
- Budget-conscious users who prefer prepaid wireless service
- Families looking for multi-line unlimited-plan discounts
- AT&T network users who want a prepaid alternative
- Heavy data users who prefer unlimited plans
- Hotspot users who can benefit from Smart or Supreme
- International users who need Mexico, Canada, texting, or roaming features
- BYOD customers with compatible unlocked phones

Why Consider Cricket Wireless?
Cricket combines prepaid simplicity with access to the AT&T network and a broader product lineup than many low-cost wireless providers.
Customers can choose between a modest 10GB plan and several unlimited options, add multiple family lines, prepay several months for additional savings, or bring an existing compatible phone.
Higher-tier plans add meaningful features such as hotspot data, international service, cloud storage, and HBO Max, while Cricket’s smartphone store provides another path for customers who need a new device.
The addition of Cricket 5G Home Internet also gives eligible households a way to combine mobile and residential internet service under the same provider.
Before switching, start with two checks: make sure Cricket coverage works where you need it and confirm that your phone is compatible if you plan to bring your own device. Once those are confirmed, compare the plan tiers and features that fit your budget.
